This was never a stereophonic recording, but it was mastered in stereo by making one channel slightly louder than the other. It's annoying to hear, especially through headphones. So when I compiled this set I also converted the tracks from stereo/mono to true monophonic for a more full-bodied flavor. 

Rhino's remastered sound is much improved over the original 1972 album, but it still sounds like a bootleg. Charming . . .
